Any places that make great puree-? I had some with my lamb chops in P.Slope at Bistro St. Marks- My husband sid it was excellent, like his mom used to make-

the texture and flavor are incredibly delicious- not dense like mashed potatoes, but I checked out a recipe book and supposedly you have to sautee the garlic (lots) first,in butter and then boil the potatoes and add milk and butter (of course) and then puree it- this sounds so simple, but it can be too lumpy or too watery.

any places in Manhattan where you have had great puree?
