Ate at Primavista this past Saturday.
Service was good. View was great (though the windows were a bit fogged up). Food was outstanding.
Primavista is a Northern Italian restaurant on the main level of an apartment building. It sits on the edge of a bluff(?) overlooking the city. The view is terrific. This is a place you won't find unless you have directions...it's in a somewhat undesirable neighborhood and not on a main street.
The restaurant is built around the view. Three levels of seating with a row of tables on each. Everyone can see out the windows. The two aisles are a bit tight and the servers struggle with that. Very dim lighting as well, but it was pleasant.
Had the shrimp with angel hair pasta. Easily the best shrimp I have had in a restaurant. Cooked perfectly and with a wonderful garlic-sherry sauce.
Wife had filet mignon with calamari. Not a big calamari fan, she said she would have ordered a side of calamari had she know it would be so good. I ate a couple bites of her steak, which was very good. Not the best I've had, but still good.
My vegetarian sister had them makes some variation on something. Don't remember what it was other than it had a tomato-basil sauce. It was a ton of pasta and she seemed happy.
Brother-in-law had a big hunk of Atlantic salmon and cleaned his plate. I didn't taste it, and I don't recall specifics.
Had crab fritters for an appetizer and they were excellent.
The house pinot grigio was lame. The house pinot noir was quite peppery/spicy; not was I expected from a pinot noir, but I did have a second glass.
A few drinks, appetizers, desserts, etc. for 4 people came to $165 before tip.
I would highly recommend it.
