I'm taking my boyfriend to the theater for his b-day in late March, and want to set up the dinner plans now. We don't go to the theater much, and don't eat in the typical theater district restaurants at all, so I'm sort of at a loss...
1. Why do most people seem to prefer pre-theater dining? Would it be a mistake to plan to go to dinner after? Does service tend to get more sluggish at later hours?
2. If you had to recommend one place for a couple who doesn't usually spend over $30 apiece for a meal to have a decent meal and not mind the splurge... what would it be, and why? (Type of cuisine not really important, good service would be a plus.)
I've been reading past posts on Chowhound and for every restaurant name I get, there always seem to be voices of dissent! I realize that not every dining experience can always be perfect... but I'm trying to find the least risky place to pick.
Thanks so much,
