My wife is running the Chicago Marathon this Sunday; I'm coming along to cheer, and of course, eat.
We'll be staying at the Comfort Inn at 15 E. Ohio, and are looking for things easily accessible to someone who has just run 26 miles; that is, they should be 2-3 blocks walk, have decent parking, or be transit accessible.
We'll be eating Pasta like fiends for the next few days (she to carbo-load, I because I just do that) and will not be in the mood for noodles afterwards. Apart from that, here's some of the criteria that would be helpful:
Not too formal, as we won't be packing the elegant wear. Jeans-and-Sweater is good.
Meat is good is this case, for protien rebuilding.
Things one can only get (or only get done right in Chicago.
Indian food is her favorite, but we get good Indian at home, so it isn't top priority.
We have already planned to visit Vosges Chocolates (can't wait!) and the City Diner for Monday Lunch. Sunday and Monday Breakfast is up for grabs, and so is Sunday lunch.
Oh - and if anyplace in the neighborhood makes a descent Martini, I'd be very pleased.
Thanks in advance, and here's to hoping the garbage strike gets sorted out before the race-
