Portland: Found Sungari, Looking for Good Indian...

Last weekend my friend and I battled through the Rose Festival crowds to go to Sungari, the Szechuan restaurant on SW 1st. I thought the food was really incredible, though that may be partly due to the fact that I've been stuck in the Midwest (home of the worst Chinese food in the country... in four years of looking, the best Chinese i've found is a Cantonese buffet place in a strip mall... ack!).

We had broccoli in spicy tangy sauce and dry-sauteed string beans. They were both excellent, especially the string beans (which the waiter encouraged us to order instead of the moo-shu we had been craving... I'm glad we listened!). Next time I'll have to see if their meat dishes are as good as the vegetables were. The place is really pretty. And my official Favorite Thing About Portland is the fact that casual dress is okay just about anywhere in the city.

My next quest is to find good Indian food. I've tried India House downtown and a mediocre place in Vancouver so far. India House was okay, but I am specifically hoping to find dosais... Any suggestions?
