Pop Art Bakeshop/Oakland - any comments?

This one I hadn't seen anywhere in my normal news-scanning, but eventually happened across a link to a mention in the San Jose Mercury News, of all places (heaven forbid the Oakland Trib should cover any hopeful new businesses in East Oakland, LOL!).

It's got rave reviews on Yelp but they're so enthusiastic it made me suspicious about their verity. There's only a couple of reviews on the first few screens that throw cold water on Bakeshop's offerings.

Wondering if anyone has wandered in and can tell us more? My DH adores meat pies and apparently they occasionally have them. The website, btw, crashed my PC three times and was a marvel of non-information, one of those "more artistic than business-oriented" designs. But we'll go far for a good meat pie, so....can anyone weigh in?

2307 International Blvd. @23rd St., Oakland.
Open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays
