Plymouth in Amador County - worth the drive

Anyone taken a drive to Plymouth lately? For starters is has the fabulous Shenandoah Vally wine region - home of some of my favorite wineries - Vino Noceto, Youngs, Deaver, TKC, Cooper -to name a few. But now the little modest Main Street of downtown Plymouth also has extraordinary food: Taste Restaurant is just amazing, generally rated as a 5 star establishment (no kidding), they are innovative, delicious, and friendly. And then there is the Dancing Bear Bar & Grill, just one block from Taste - housed in the beautiful historic Plymouth Hotel - it's fun and cheery (full bar), has a really nice outdoor patio, and serves up yummy stuff like wood fired pizzas, pulled pork sandwitches, and smoked ribs. And not to forget the little Vintage Market, also very good, and they will pack you a lunch to take up to the wineries. Very nice and very gormet.
I have stayed at the Plymouth House Inn - a Victorian style B&B right on Main Street, too. So cute, so cozy, and so convenient. Plymouth seems to have it all - except the huge crowds of other wine regions - it is still very rural. What a great weekend get-a-way.
