Went to the Place in the Village last night for dinner. Thanks for all of the suggestions btw look forward to trying some of them.

Atmosphere- Overall, nice ( a great Date Place). Problems- the front room was hot. Windows were open and it was humid. Cooled off when we left. THe tables are close together, but this was not a problem as the other people in there were not loud and I never once was distracted by the conversation. The Good- although close not very noisy. It is a nice space and am now just rambling. A-
Service- host/ owner was very nice. Waitstaff seemed in a bit of a rush ( an ever increasing problem). But they were nice enough. B
Wine List- selection was decent, not great. Prices were reasonable on the bottles; glasses were a little expensive. The Chablis was actually very good and worked well with the mussels. The Pinot Noir was a bit vegatative as a lot of wines from argentina are. Decent with the papperdales and the meatiness of the duck. The artichokes made this a rough match.
Food- mussels were dissapointing. Had roughtly 8 that were not open. THey were by no mean horrible, just average and I would have like a little more flavor from the sauce. B-
Papperdale- very good and exceeded my expectation. Perhaps a little more duck and artichoke, but it had a great flavor. Good size portion to boot. My only other wish is the pasta would have been cut a little "shorter(?)". B+ to A-
Did not try my friends Salmon although she loved it.
Overall- B+. I would recommend this place. The prices are not at all unreasonable and the overall quality was good.
