So they've got this nice huge brick oven at Sunset in Allston. It's not wood-fired (or really made of bricks) but it's got some massive flames heating a large stone dome. This equals high potential for great pizza.
Their pizza menu is equally ambitious and could yield great stuff. Among the standout concepts are cheeseburger (ketchup, tiny burger patties, american cheese, fries, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce) and greek (roasted pepper sauce, feta, chicken, topped with a dressed greek salad).
I ordered a cheeseburger pizza and although the concept was executed competently and was a fun time, the dough fell way flat. Flavorless and chewy/dry, with no char and no yeastiness (which is sad, becuase the menu boasts about how it's made with beer ingredients, or something).
The dough was being expertly twirled, too... I think they just need to fix their dough recipe and they could become a real pizza destination.
