Thanks to the postings of so many, I came up with a list of must try pizza in Boston to match my desire for thin crust,and flavorful but not sweet sauce.
Lactaid in hand, I have begun fastidioussly working my way through this list. Some notes from my travels thus far:
Santarpio's: Excellent crust and sauce (best of both so far) per criteria, not greasy, a bit too much cheese. We ordered a mushroom/garlic/pepper. The peppers were plentiful and flavorful, the mushrooms felt and tasted canned and the garlic was undetectable.
Other than Pizza: Combo Lamb/Sausage appetizer. I would go there just for this. Come to think of it, I would go just about anywhere just for this. Wonderfully mixed clientele, friendly if slow service.
Emma's: Excellent crust, sauce a bit too sweet, just the right amount of cheese, toppings fresh, plentiful and flavorful.
Other than Pizza: a few terrific salads, efficient service.
Bluesone Bistro: Crust too thick, outstanding sauce, way too much cheese, very fresh toppings.
Other than Pizza: I had a mediocre spinach salad. My husband's salad looked better. Unbearably slow, spotty service.
Pizzeria Regina: The most flavorful of the bunch. Delicious tasting sauce/cheese/toppings, Crust couldn't stand up to the soupiness of sauce and cheese. Hihgly recommend out topping combo (salami/ricotta/garlic).
Other than Pizza: Great service.
