I'm doing a project in my neighborhood in San Francisco which involves eating at every restaurant on a strip of Mission Street called "La Lengua" - for more info, see here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/838611
One of the stops on this project was Pizza Hut, where I ate this week....it's probably the first time I've had Pizza Hut in about 6 years, and I didn't really like it. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza, which at Pizza Hut involves both bacon and ham, as well as pineapple. I got the normal crust and normal amount of sauce. I ordered online—I enjoyed the online ordering system, which lets you design your own pizza, and allows you to automatically apply coupons. And when I went to pick up my pizza, it was ready...so the ordering and pick up process was very easy.
The pizza itself was super spongy....the crust is almost more like a super-greasy, bland tasting focaccia than a pizza crust. The sauce was too spiced and tasted overcooked, which is exactly how I remembered Pizza Hut sauce being. So at least they are consistent.
While I can't say it was horrible, I can confidently say I will not be seeking out Pizza Hut pizza again.
