Help! We just moved here from NY, and although I don't expect to get NY pizza anywhere but there, we haven't been able to find a good close substitute that will help with my pizza cravings anywhere. 2 Amy's is fine if you want the thin crust pizza and is a decent substitute for Otto's in NY. But I'm talking about real, cheesy, dripping, local neighborhood corner type pizza. Everywhere we've tried, something is off with the crust. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's just not quite right.
I saw a Food Network special once that claimed it was the NYC water that made the pizza crust so different (and bagels as well). I was skeptical, but am starting to think otherwise.
Does anyone have any suggestions we could try? For pizza I'm willing to travel to any neighborhood...
