Pino's

I posted a quesry on this board about a month ago about Pino's, on East 34th street. Thanks for the two responises I got. A couple of fellow ex Brooklynites and I went there for an enjoyable evening last week. It's owned by former Boston red Sox pitcher Jerry Casale (about 1960, I had his baseball card as a kid). It's a real old school Italian place, the food is good, if basic, and Jerry is a very hands on host. It's a fun place to spend an evening, especially if you grew up in Brooklyn and/or are a baseball fan of a certain age. What really amazes me is how this place could have existed for 30 years without my having ever heard of it(being a baseball fan, plus favoring and always searching out Mom & Pop places such as this), and how it still flies under most every radar I know of. It's not in Time Out New York, web searches yield nothing but an address, and until I posted a query on this board, this website had no hits on the place either. Go, Jerry would love to see you --Ken
