My traveling companion and I will be doing a little road tripping through the Pacific Northwest, centering around Portland and Seattle. My research here has revealed choices-o-plenty for Portland and Seattle (of course), as well as Newport, Olympia, Tacoma, Renton, and Issaquah. However, I haven't yet seen any mention of Medford, Coos Bay, Astoria, Port Angeles, or Yakima, which are stops along our route. Naturally, there may be nothing to mention, but that's why I'm asking.
Here's a broad view of our itinerary:
Medford - Hwy 42 - 101 - Coos Bay
Coos Bay - 101 - Astoria
Astoria - 101 - Port Angeles
Port Angeles - 101 - Seattle
Seattle - I 90 - Yakima
Yakima - Hwy 97 - I 84 - Portland
Aside from Seattle and Portland, we'll be spending only one day in each of the above towns. What recommendations can be had for these stop-overs? Or is there nothing, but something better down the road? I'll be happy to receive rec's for any time of the day since I really don't know when we'll be blowing into each town.
By the way, this road trip won't be until late-October/early-November. If this time of year should affect our chowing options or travel plans, we'll appreciate any heads-up info.
