I'm having dinner at Piccola Strada with a friend. He has chosen the restaurant. I went to a restaurant in Rome on his recommendation and was very disappointed with the food. I looked at the menu for Piccola Strada online and it doesn't look too promising. I'm very bad at eating food I don't like (really very childish of me) and even worse at pretending to like it. I'm hoping my hunch is wrong, and a choir of hounds will tell me that this place is simple and wonderful. Any suggestions for how to get out of going there gracefully? I suppose I could say I'm having an intense craving for another place and hope he isn't offended.
