In the past, I've not been a big fan of a lot of the pho places in Silicon Valley. Often the broth has been too thin tasting and the surroundings too run down. Maybe I've just been missing the good places.
Pho Bao Long just opened a couple weeks ago on Murphy Ave. in downtown Sunnyvale and fixes both those problems for me. This is the best tasting pho I've had in the area - a rich, complex broth, and plenty of tripe and tendon in the combination bowl. These are the intense, lively flavors that attracted me to pho in the first place. Plus the decor is nice and the service is friendly!
Has anyone else tried it out? If so, I'd be very curious to hear how it stacks up against your old favorites, especially in the Sunnyvale - Mountain View area.
Pho Bao Long is at 155 S. Murphy Ave in Sunnyvale, where the Murphy Station Cafe used to be. They're open 10 am to 10 pm every day; the phone is (408) 737-7640.
