After it opened we went to Philley's Smoke House in LIC at the old Pearson's site. It was bad. But many restaurants need time to adjust.
Well we tried again yesterday. It was terrible. Not only was the service bad, the food was really awful. Besides the fries, which were ok, everything else was inettable. Almost everything is fried besides some entrees, and boy are they greasy and naucsious.
The brisket and pork were terrible and we even doubt that they were smoked (a bad sign for a "smoke house". The burger was terrible too. The sides were horrible- we all tried one small taste and lost our appitites.
Instead of getting better the place is worse. I cannot immagine a more disgusting meal. They know nothing about either barbeque or cooking in general. What a nightmare!
If you want to see how not to run a restaurant, I advise you get there quick - before the general public or the health inspector catches on.
