My boyfriend and I spent a romantic overnight in Ogunquit, ME. We had a remarkable time. We stayed at the Anchorage by the Sea, which was absolutely beautiful. We were amazed by the number of restaurants in the area. We started our morning off with a delicious (and very reasonable) breakfast at Bessies which was within walking distance from our hotel.
We spent the afternoon shopping and sight seeing in Perkins Cove. We decided to have a few coctails and an appetizer (we were still pretty full from our breakfast) at Jackies Too (which came highly recommended). The food was amazing! The view is absolutely beautiful. You are practically sitting in the Atlantic Ocean. We had Clam Chowder (the best we had ever had), Lobster Bisque, and Mussels. The drink list was fabulous too. The list of Martinis, Margaritas, and "Oceanside Coctails" made the decision very difficult for us.
We enjoyed our light lunch so much that we opted to try it again for dinner. Once again everything was delicious. We began our dinner with a Spinach and Blue Cheese Salad (I recommend sharing it). I had the Seafood Fettuccini which was loaded with seafood and my boyfriend had the Baked Stuffed Haddock. The menu featured a wide variety of seafood choices along with steak and pasta dishes. Everything is reasonably priced and the portions are more than enough.
If you venture up to Ogunquit, ME go to Jackies. They are open year round (which is rare for many restaurants up there). The food and the service are well worth the trip!!!
