Perfectly simple Cafe Beate in Nutrioso

I know Nutrioso is in a quiet corner of Arizona and that very few people visit Springerville or Alpine or even tiny Nutrioso, but . . . if you're planning a motorcycle trip up Highway 191 or even if you find yourself wandering the blue highways of central Arizona, you have got to try Cafe Beate. Fine German food, simply and perfectly cooked, awaits you. We enjoyed the rouladen and wiener schnitzer with mushrooms. It was the best German food we've had since we moved back to the US. More than that, it's not just good German food, but good food, period. If you want beer or wine, bring your own. We hope to go back when the weather is cooler so we can enjoy watching the sunset as we relax on their front porch. I understand that Cafe Beate rents rooms as well, and that they may bring you breakfast in bed. Too bad my new favorite restaurant is five hours away.
