Pequa Valley Yogurts Found

Bride of the Juggler | Jun 14, 2002 09:49 AM

About a year ago I posted asking if anyone knew where to find Pequa Valley Farms Yogurts (I may have the spelling wrong). They are full-fat, thick, creamy tangy yogurts made in Lancaster county. They are reminiscent of European yogurts. The plain is quite similar to the taste of the Old Chatham Shepherding Company sheeps milk yogurts at half the price. Well, they've finally started carrying them at several locations:

Lancaster County Dairy (I think it's called). On the far North side of Reading Terminal Market. 99cents.

Picnic
Walnut st. at 34th.
99cents each.

They don't carry the yogurts, but they do carry the double cream yogurt cheeses. The thickness of sour cream or cream cheese, with various flavors stirred in. I think they were like $1.50 each.

Farmer's Market at 5th and South
At least last year, they carried the regular size yogurts and the large size plain yogurt.

Flavors I've seen: Plain, cherry, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, tangerine, vanilla.

We've been freezing them in our popsicle maker for great yogurt pops.

Please let me know what you think if you try them! Thank you.
