I had been looking forward to going to Gitlo's for a while based on reports I read here on the boards. Why oh why did I anticipate thi so hard and leave so ridiculously disappointed. There was only 2 of 6 items i ordered that i would ever even attempt to eat again. I ordered:
Chive Dumplings with water chestnut, ginger, shrimp and pork--These were absolutely delicious. I would eat these every day if I could. Bursting with flavor and I loved the texture. Ok let me stop...I am getting hungry.
Spring Rolls Wrapped with taro, pork shrimp and dry black mushroom--Ummm...they were okay but they had a very odd texture that I just can't take
Barbecue Pork Wrapped In Homemade Puff Pastry contains peanut butter--This dish is just not it...at all...in any shape, form, or fashion. The flavor was just...wow...undescribable and not in a good way. You could not pay me to eat this again.
House Made Clear Noodle, Stir Fried with fresh sea shrimp green pepper, onion carrot and mushroom--This was okay but I do not like those mushrooms and they perfumed the entire dish. I also did not like the noodles....hold on while I compose myself just from the though of eating these again.
Shrimp Paste wrapped in bacon--Not necessarily bad or anything but it tasted like ham.
Long Hot Peppers with Shrimp Paste--Whoooooooo...my taste buds are still dancing from this one. I loved them and I would order these 3 times a day if I could.
Most likely though I will not be returning to Gitlo's. I will stick to Dim Sum Chef and Winsor for my dim sum needs.
