Just a short message to thank everyone who had suggestions for dining in Portland. We went to Andina and Tina's(Dundee) for lunch and Bewon, Lucy's Table, and Jake's Crawfish for dinner.
Jake's menu looked like McCormick and Schmicks. The food and service were good but it was a little too crowded and noisy for my taste.
Tina's had a limited menu at lunch but the food was very good and I would love to have dinner there.
We tried a number of cebiches and tapas at Andina and I would recommend this restaurant to those that like seafood and are looking for something different.
Lucy's Table was also very good. We had four appetizers and three entrees and all were good. I especially liked the wild boar pasta, braised rabbit and the goat cheese ravioli.
The highlight of the trip for me was Bewon. I had the 7 course tasting menu and it was outstanding. Some of the dishes were very simple but the meal in its entirety was a great experience. With the pan chan that is served with the entree you actually get to try about 15 or 16 dishes. The optional wine paring was also very reasonable. My two favorite dishes were the crepes and the jap chae.
Thanks again to all who helped in my planning for my trip. I am looking forward for my next trip to Portland.
