PDX: Options for a Sunday Birthday?

Hi Chowhounds,

I'm visiting from SF (well the east bay actually) and am trying to pick a place for a celebratory birthday dinner on a Sunday. I've been to Higgins and was delighted, but was less moved by Wildwood (I can't remember what I had--always a bad sign--and we had cursory service from the waiter).

I've reviewed the posts, and I'm considering Paley's Place, Southpark, Heathman Hotel, which are all open Sunday. I also have found that Genoa is open on Sundays. But recent posts have suggested that Genoa might have gone down hill. I read the recent posts where there many short affirmations of Genoa, but they were a bit skimpy on chow detail. And I'd just like to get some more opinions before I commit. Has anyone been there recently?? If so, please advise!

Any further opinions on the places I've mentioned or new suggestions for great chow and friendly service would be welcomed. Great chow and friendly service are key...
thanks in advance!
