PDX - Obi Sushi

I forgot to post about Obi Sushi after going there a couple of weeks ago.

Obi Sushi is on the corner of NW 2nd and Couch, across from Second Story Bistro. It's not the prettiest place in the nicest area, it doesn't have the best or freshest sushi in town, nor the cheapest prices...but there are a couple of things there that are great and should be checked out.

One thing that was the best of it's kind I have ever had was the eel (unagi). Awesome - charry grilled goodness. It was perfect, really, better than I have had anywhere else.

The other thing here that is delicious and that I would seek out is the Oregon roll. It is huge (8 large slices of a roll that is about 2.5 inches in diameter) and costs about $9 but it is delicious and is aptly named. It has smoked salmon, mushrooms, asparagus, and cooked dungeness crab - quintessential Oregon and very yummy.

So although I can't really say that everything there is great or even good, these two things are fabulous. The other thing that is nice about this place is that they bring you miso soup and a bowl of edamame on the house with dinner.
