A friend and I had dinner at Mingo in Beaverton on Saturday night. We were seated in the bar at 7:30 pm. Although they were somewhat busy, it wasn't too crowded.
We shared a Mingo salad (which is like a caesar) and it was fabulous! It had the right amount of dressing, a touch of spice, and fabulous croutons. For dinner we both had the Penne Al Sugo, braised beef over penne pasta. The meat was tender with a a bit of tomato sauce and a wonderful flavor. I had the house chianti by the glass which was full-bodied and smooth and my friend had a drink called the Italian Job that tasted a bit like a lemon drop and was very good. We finished our meals of with fabulous cappuccinos. The server was perfect, attentive but not intrusive. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and never felt hurried or rushed.
I really like the atmosphere here, especially when things slow down. They have warm, soft lights and candles and feels very relaxing and comfortable. I will definitely be back.
