(PDX) Mama Mia's Revisited

Calabrese | Sep 29, 2005 08:59 PM

Dining partner and I went to Mama Mia's again last night after not being there for awhile. Heavy Italian is not really summer fare.

I was disappointed. The service was not as good as it has been in the past, slower and less attentive.

They are now charging a buck to substitute spinach for pasta with any dish. That used to be free. I guess the fact that it is done so much so give them a hint about their pasta sides. The chicken in my marsala was tough, though dining partner thought the chicken in her parmesan was fine.

Their prices are high for what they serve and they don't validate parking. I find the parking validation strange given Schroder's comments about the raises in garage fees being unfair to restaurant owners. She also had no problem with the rise in meter rates.

I think I will be hunting for a new NY Italian haunt.
