(PDX) Fife!

Hear ye, Hear ye...Get thee to Fife! Fife is a new "American" restaurant on Fremont and it is well worth visiting. The menu changes frequently so there isn't much need to tell you what to order except to say that all six of us had different entrees and all six of us were very pleased. The Maryland crab cakes appetizer was fresh, flavorful and meaty. I had the ribeye with grilled onions and grilled asparagus and it was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The chef came to our table to inquire if he could substitute a vegetable for the one noted on the menu as he didn't like the looks of what was delivered to him that day. (Well of course you can change the vegetable and thank you very much for caring!) Desserts were also winners and Fife offers a cheese plate which always scores points with me. Small wine list but decent. Full bar available.

The restaurant itself is somewhat stark but accented in copper tones and black. It is a little noisy thanks to the concrete floors and the open kitchen (which you can dine at!) but we were being noisy ourselves so it wasn't disturbing in any way. I hope you visit Fife and enjoy it as much as we all did.
