[pdx] LOW BBQ

As we search for the elusive great BBQ place in Portland, here is a new potential...

LOW (Laid Off Workers) BBQ ("serving you with 15 years experience in the semiconductor industry") has opened recently.

I ran into them first at the downtown Farmers Market (Saturdays at PSU); they ran out of everything except the Pork Ribs that were great. Nice flavor, good quality meet; nice light tangy sauce.

On Monday I stopped by their non-market location, a mobil unit at the corner of Hawthorne & SE 6th (Mon - Fri 11 AM - 2 PM) and tried their brisket too. Good flavor; good quality meat (They use Painted Hills beef.) I thought it could be slightly more tender and a bit smokier but it was very good nevertheless. The coleslaw was light, tangy, and very fresh.

For now, they offer only brisket, pork ribs, and coleslaw. In the market, they also offer lamb chops.

Nice guys too. Give them a try!
