Hi, I'm new to LA and this is also my first post here. I've spent a few months just getting acclimated and now I'm starting to do a little more exploring.
The other day while talking with friends I realized I don't know any good patisseries or bakeries around where I live, which is West Hollywood ish, very close to the intersection of Sunset and Fairfax. Can anyone recommend a place? Ideally it'd be a patisserie or bakery with "fancy" enough cakes, tarts etc that I could go there to get stuff for special occasions, but also friendly enough and with enough small and not too decadent things that I could go on some random afternoon and get a treat.
I moved here from Berkeley, so I'm remembering fondly walking to La Farine (http://www.lafarine.com), Masse's, Katrina Rozelle (http://www.katrinarozelle.com), and going to Citizen Cake (http://www.citizencake.com) in SF.
