Panini in Newport, OR

If you're ever in Newport over by the Sylvia Beach Hotel, you have to stop in at Panini, it's a block away from the hotel heading away from the beach.

First off, they don't take credit or debit cards, which we found out when we tried to pay by one. But we weren't turned away to chase down an ATM, they wrote us a receipt and told us we could mail a check in when we got home. I thought that was great.

I had a sweet potato muffin and my husband had a raspberry jam cream cheese danish...both were awesome. The coffee is also really good and considering you could get a cup for 75 cents or a latte for $1 made our smiles a little bigger.

They also have soups, sandwiches, and pizzas for lunch which sounded really tasty.

Everyone who walked in got an honest cheery greeting (I can only handle so much cheeriness before coffee)...all the locals are known by first name...just a great place and a great way to start the day at the coast.
