Had a really great experience at Pangea on Sunday. I didn't realize where it was located, but the unassuming exterior does not do the beautiful interior--sort of Egyptian feel to the decor. Great ambience, although I suspect that it could get a bit noisy during a full house. Staff was very attentive and professional, maybe a little rough around the edges, but the service was really good. They really do a good job at making every dish interesting and a little different. Had the 3 hummus tapas flight--3 very different preparations in manageable portion sizes. All had distinct flavors and were quite tasty. I had the red snapper special--broiled with a nice crunch and served over a corn, pea, and andouille succotash with a spicy tomatillo salsa. Nice presentation and wonderful taste. The Mrs had a penne with lobster and smoked gouda dish, that was finished off with an asiago gratin on top. I only got to taste one piece of lobster.....a nice, rich, cheesy dish. For dessert, I had a decadent chocolate lava cake--outstanding with home made whipped cream, and the wife had a kind of lemon pudding which was very tasty and light. The wine list is really nice with some not so common listings from Italy and S America, and they have some cool wine flights for a tasting opportunity. Prices are decent and the crystal stemware is some of the nicest that I have seen in this town. Can't wait to try it again for a 2nd opinion.
