Palmira's - Brooklyn Heights

Eight of us recently went to Palmira's. Our ages ranged from 9 to 68. The menu was ideal because it had selections for us all. One of us had a tilipia special, and one of the kids had a calzone. There were plenty of vegetarian offerings. At first we were put off by how very slow the appetizers were served. When I inquired why it had taken 40 minutes to get our salad, they explained they had two other large parties and that the kitchen was at full throttle. The entrees were slow too, and the oldest of the bunch talked to manager. While this may sound like a negative review, it is not. The entrees were terrfic! They were piping hot, well seasoned, and served all at once. At the end of the meal, our manager insisted on us having dessert "on him." We demurred, and were in the process of leaving when he handed us a $50 gift certificate. He insisted it was the least he could do for our wait. He was sincerely worried that we were mad at him. The waitress also pulled all the stops out to make us happy. This restaurant has finally met its stride in a here-to-fore "cursed" location in the Saint George at Clark Street and Henry. They are bustling, friendly, and fill a need in the Heights. I am happy to have them!
