Palm Springs steak wars heat up

Finally had a chance to sample LG's Prime Steakhouse in Palm Desert. There are 3 locations in the PS area. As someone who thought Ruth Chris was the best, that has completely changed now.

I ordered the dry-aged bone-in NY steak and my SO had the rib eye. Both were phenomenal, probably the most flavorful cuts I've ever had. Both were cooked expertly. The rib eye was nicely charred outside, and super tender & juicy inside. However, my aged steak had a beautiful flavor and tenderness unlike any NY I've enjoyed. At LG they serve the meat sizzling and piping hot a la Ruth Chris, but not nearly as much butter (of course you can opt out), so the flavor really relies on the meat more than anything.

Sides were good too. Bread was warm and crusty baguette style. I had a simple garden salad with their bleu cheese and split a baked potato. The atmosphere was perfectly Palm Springs, relaxed and casually elegant. Definitely a fan now and will be dreaming of that cut until next time!
