I will elaborate on my recent binge of Manhattan when I have a moment, but in short it was a tremendous success thanks to Chowhound. I just hope it hasn't ruined London for me...to whit:
In eight days, I had two outstanding meals (Annisa, Etat-Unis on New Year Eve) and several more-than-decent to excellent meals (City Bakery, Sparks, Totonno's pizza, Veritas)...Most places I went to (Waterloo, Barney Greengrass aside) offered good value-for-money. Service at all places surpassed expectations despite many complications.
I was astonished at how much restaurant prices have risen since I left four years ago...but also at how inexpensive it is relative to London. I seriously think it would take me a year and put me in serious debt to eat as I did in NYC.
Help me to love London anew! Mustn't grumble...mustn't grumble...mustn't grumble....
