Meeting some friends last week out in Suffolk that we had not seen in a while. Due to the organization of this board, it is really tough to find info on things because the search function is horribly limited.

We wanted steak, and one place that is raved about here that is in Suffolk is Teller's. My cousin who does a lot of business dining frequents Teller's as well and always said good things. Alas, they were booked up.

Trying to search here, but it is tedius. So I called my cousin and asked him what his backup is and he said Pace's.

We make a 9:00 resi. Get there on time and they said it would be a few moments and that our friends were already in the bar. Ordered drinks and the piano player began to play. Nice touch. Made the half hour before we were seated enjoyable.

Service was good. Two waiters. One was remarkably better than the other. Doesn't mean the other was bad, just the better one was a real pro. Dry sense of humor and a real grasp on the menu.

Had several apetizers, baked clams, oysters rockefeller, and mozz cheese salad. All were enjoyable.

Ordered a red off their wine list. A cheap wine with a huge markup, but it was a good cheap wine.

3 out of the four of us had steaks. My wife had the Chilean sea bass. 2 porterhouses and a filet. Perfect medium rares with a touch of seasoning. My friends who had been to teller's said they like the place and the food more. My wife tasted a bit of my steak and said it was one of the best she's had. I thought it was a first class steak.

Prices were on slightly below par with what you would expect at a first class steakhouse.

All in all, a good experience.

Hopefully the message board will get upgraded to a modern format so that this review can be of use to many people in the future, near or far!
