Oooh. I was in Whole Foods this afternoon, when I spotted fresh oysters on ice--.99 each. I asked, drooling, whether the gentleman behind the counter could shuck them for me, and the answer was yes. I think they were blue points--a good size. Rushed home. Ate one, just with a spritz of lemon juice, and relished the taste of the sea. The other three will have to wait until tonight, and I will drop in for another round if I am able.
Thought others might be interested. (I also bought boneless shad for another treat. Somehow that tastes best early in the season.)
