I thought that a useful (as in money saving) post would be for everyone to list what they think are the most overrated restaurants. You know that one place that the guy at work raved about, so you went and after tasting the food the only thing you could do is look around and wonder why the place is so packed. I recently moved from SF to Oakland, so I'll start it off with a couple of bad suggestions that I received:
Le Cheval - this place is to vietnames/chinese food what Chevy's is to Mexican food; standard menu, bland food and bad service. Definitely a foodie hangout.
Zachary's Pizza - Cheese, sauce, a deep dish crust...ok so what's all the hype about? From reading the published reviews that they put at the tables, I was expecting to be served by an angel from heaven. I have honestly had a better pizza that I made from one of thoses Boboli crusts that you get at the supermarket and I didn't wait in a line for an hour to eat it.
