Ottawa: Thanks and report on 222 Lyon Tapas

First, many thanks for all of the helpful recommendations in response to my inquiry last week -- just beginning to work through them.

The closest option to my new home away from home at the Minto (on/off for the next six months) was 222 Lyons tapas for dinner Monday night.

It was a great option for a solo diner -- really friendly people and warm service (kudos to Scott the bartender/server) while eating at the bar. The Spanish chardonnay was a nice surprise with little oak and lots of flavor coupled with quite generous pours.

Dinner was really good -- delicious garlic shrimp with bread (really ordinary and much too soft for my taste -- they should warm/toast/grill it...) for dipping -- different from the basic oil and garlic clove shaving I anticipated -- I'd order it again. Also had the asparagus viniagrette, which was a generous serving of perfectly-cooked, JUMBO (but tender!), asparagus spears with a nice dressing on top.

The total bill with generous tip was $35 -- it's going to become a regular stop for simple dinners near the hotel, and when I can take a group to try more of the options and possibly the special main courses which sounded great.
