First, let me thank all you chowhounds for the great info you have on here. Im new to the area and have read as much as it out there.
My situation is a very important date this evening, for which I have a 8:30 reservation at TRP. What I realize now is that it may be a bit too informal in both dress and demeanor for the female companion who is simply looking for a reason to get dressed up. I am from d.c. where fine dining and well dressed young professionals are the norm, and I fear Orlando may have a bit more of the shorts and sandals set than I anticipated. We are in our late twenties, love seafood and red meat, and enjoy the chic trendy decor on a special night out.
That said, I can tell demand is much greater to dine at the Pig rather than my fallbacks, by the lack of available tables. I realize price is going to be equal (120ish) regardless of my choice, and would like an elegant evening. I am considering luma as an alt ernative, as well as kres chophouse, as they seem to offer more in the way of decor and less of a chance of her feeling overdressed.
Honestly, after perusing the menu, I am hesitant to pay 4* prices for the ambiance and food of a casual eatery. Any and all opinions welcomed, and thanks for the read.
