I was happy to discover yesterday that Russo's is finally offering organic produce. There's a new section devoted to organic in the entrance way tent (immediately to the left when you enter). The best part is the prices. The organic veggies seemed priced the same or just slightly higher than the conventional produce available inside.
This is much more exciting to me than Russo's recent physical renovation, which only resulted (as far as I can tell) in the expansion of the prepared foods and bakery operations, perhaps the two weakest departments in the store. I've gotten some good stuff in both (I like the teriyaki chicken wings, the macaroons, and a few other cookies), but in general the prepared food and baked goods seem just okay.
