Old Port Lobster Shack is open for lunch and dinner on Monday. Popped in this past one for a naked roll and a bowl of the little neck clams, both very good. They were short handed so Russell's father was helping out taking orders and serving beverages.
Russell says his normal delivery days are Tues & Thurs, but the latter occasionally gets pushed back to Friday. When I asked about steamers he checked his orders and said they would be in the next day.
I returned Tues evening about 6:25 and was told by the young lad at the counter that there were no steamers since their shipment hadn't arrived from the airport. I asked Russell who was at a nearby table chatting with a customer, pulled out his cell and relayed that his driver had just exited 101 at Whipple (?). By 6:30 they were unloading the shipment and 10-15 minutes later I had a big bowl of the best steamers, followed by a beautiful plate of scallops (8-9) with a subtle whiskey cream glaze. Absolutely delicious. I'd inquired about the fried clam bellies, so Russell brought over a little sampler for me, also very goood but by this point I was quite full. He also mentioned that he had ordered 10# (iirc) of razor clams to experiment with.
