Opentable "Per Se" Reservation Question

grimaldi | Apr 12, 2008 07:56 PM

Opentable has only a few slots available for Per Se at a given time. Most people try to book for (2) persons and that is rarely open. However, I often find a table for (4) available. On the next page in Opentable it states that any "decrease in number of people attending within 72 hours of the reservation will result in being charged $150 per person." I am wondering then, if you book the (4)-top and call ahead of 72 hours to confirm it will only be two people, would they cancel your reservation, charge you $300 or be OK with it and place two people at a table for four? I am not trying to deceive the system or find some back-door clause. I am interested to know if anyone has used Opentable to book Per Se and if this has been tried.

Thanks.
