Restaurants & Bars Manhattan Thanksgiving

NYC for Thanksgiving

A friend and I will be spending time in NYC for Thanksgiving and I would love to find something to eat that is a bit more off the beaten path. There are plenty of restaurants that will be open and serving traditional Thanksgiving Day fare, but I can get that at home with the parents (as much as I love Thanksgiving dinner, it sounds a bit boring for NYC).

Any ideas on where to go? Anywhere is open to us... Harlem, Queens, Brooklyn, UES, UWS, SOHO, even crossing over to Jersey if the meal is right.

For example; I was thinking that a Peking Duck dinner would be a great alternative, but I think a lot of the places that serve PD, require 4 or more people, and as there are only two of us, I don't want to pay for two other plates that are empty. (please let me know if this is wrong or if you know of great PD that is worth going out for).

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.
