With the recent high-profile closing of such former "institutions" as La Caravelle, Lutece, and La Cote Basque, I am looking to eat at ...
- an established NYC restaurant, one that has preferably been around for more than five years (the older the better)
- no price restrictions
- any type of cuisine
- quality of the food far more important than anything else (decor, service, price etc)
- Peter Lugar's is out (have eaten there many times and want to try somewhere new)
- 21 Club is also out (have heard that the food is not worthy of the prices)
Rao's? (Is the food good there or does it get it's reputation mostly from the "scene?")
Any and all suggestions welcome...thanks in advance.
