Discoveries during a Sat. stroll 'tween Bart stations.

A. Greek Imports and Meditterean Deli
6524 Mission near Theta
Anyone remember the awful aAcropolis Greek Deli on
Valencia/14th? It landed here w/ last years baklava
and the "whadayawant" service style.

B. Inangs Home-Made Cuisine
6626 Mission across from J&K Auto Repair
I don't know my philipine cuisine but i do recog-
nixe stale cooking oil, greasy steam tables and
old newspapers.

C. Atche Filipino Food Express KapamPangan Cuisine
6771 Mission near Como
papered windows-opening not closing-neither the
postman nor the kid at the liquor store knew when.

D. Egg Roll King
6811 Mission near Westlake
2 for $.99-lite, non-greasy and superfresh.Are they
only made w/ bean sprouts?

E. Red Robin Bake Shop
6877 Mission behind Jollibee
Upmarket Filipino bake shop/take out a la Goldilocks
Franchise spotless w/ perky clerks in uniform. The
Ube Macapuno Roll coverd in whipped cream was
achingly sweet. Unsampled was sansrival, maja pandan
and sago at gulaman.Savory dishes on menu also.

F. Hawaiian Drive Inn #28
50 San Pedro Rd. nr. Mission
The Loco Moco plate lunch ($4.85) came w/ rice &
macaroni salad. The hamburger patty was overdone and
dry-the eggs had a super salty gravy. Maybe there
is good reason why Hawaiian food is scarce in Norcal
The untried dessert was Hawaiian cookie for $2.50

G. Phillipine Grocery
92 Hill off Washington
Super clean store w/ fresh exotic fruits and vege-
tables & large selection of Filipino tinned &
packaged goods.Big take out selection of un-
familiar but fresh looking (and smelling) pre-
pared food.Don't forget a tub of the locally made
garlic peanuts ($1.50)
