Stopped in earlier this week to try it out. It was a quiet night - I think we arrived at 9:00 and the snowflakes had started falling.
Overall, the rolls were inconsistent. The waitress recommended that we go with the restaurant's special rolls and we should have stuck with that advice - I thought she was just pointing us to the more expensive items.
We tried the Backdraft Roll, the Spider Roll, and the Hokkaido Roll. The Backdraft was pretty bad - just way too spicy to enjoy the flavors - I think they used Tabasco or cayenne pepper (or maybe both). The spider roll was a good rendition at a reasonable price ($8). The Hokkaido (from the list of restaurant specials) was the real winner. Spicy scallops topping something I can't remember right now.
We also tried kanpachi - the baby hamachi and it was nice. Very firm texture, and a little less marbled, compared to hamachi.
Service was very friendly. Almost too friendly, but I think the waitress was just bored on a slow night.
The reason we'll be back - the sushi chef/owner, Ko, was friendly enough to chat with us and he clearly is trying to build a business. Next time, we may just leave the ordering in his hands.
