dined here recently on suggestion of chowhounds and must admit to a bit of disappointment.
fried calamari app -- one of the better parts of the meal -- nicely presented on a bed of greens with a drizzle of some sort of tartar-saucy-concoction
watercress/beet salad -- mostly beets with watercress as garnish. and the beets, themselves, were not any more exciting than those for which you enlist your canopener.
mussels -- shellfish was of high quality and perfectly cooked. unfortunately, the broth was rather insipid. given the proliferation of good mussels in the 'nabe, i was disaapointed.
another positive -- my dining partner's osso buco was superb -- with artichokes and feta. she did complain about the portion-size, but i cannot validate this based on too few osso buco experiences.
bread was very good but served cold. service was slow -- but the room really filled up quickly after we arrived, so this was understandable. i was not thrilled with my martinis, which were pricey, yet when poured, fell a 1/4 inch short of the rim. excellent wine list, with many good by-the-glass options.
i am thinking i just chose wrong and that this place has potential. yet, i probably won't be back, which may say it all.
