Neldam's Dream of Cream Cake

Finally had my first Dream of Cream cake. Melanie wrote about it last June and I've been looking for an excuse to buy one ever since. Orderd for a coworker's birthday. It was only $23.75 for a 9 inch cake that was so tall they couldn't close the cake box. It was delicious--chocolate sponge cake with layers of whipped cream and topped with chocolate shavings (which fly everywhere when birthday candles are blown out). It's rich but light. Got rave reviews. Melanie estimates there is over a pint of cream in the cake. It yielded 12 plus servings. Please frequent Neldam's--they've been around since 1929 and apparently need some help to stay in business.
(Think of them for Christmas gifts--they make beautiful gingerbread houses beginning in November). And pick up some of their dinner rolls. If you don't eat them right away they freeze well.
