So sad when a favorite restaurant goes downhill...
My daughter and I ate at Natasha's on Portland St. this morning as we have recently. Its time to admit to ourselves that the new crew in the dining room is beyond caring about the customers. I previously attributed slow or uncaring service to the fact that we had arrived during the rush, but today it was not busy early. The servers are just too cool to care whether your coffee cup is empty, or how long it's been since they've been to your table. The food is still the same, except maybe for the glob of MARGARINE my daughter got served with her pancakes.
Last time we went by, it was closed Saturday AM for a Christmas party. Luckily, it was early enough to get into Bintliff's without waiting in the cold. My daughter, who for so long said she only wanted to go to Natasha's, not Bintliff's, brought up the idea of going there from now on. At Bintliff's, they're as friendly and helpful as ever, but the wait can be very, very long.
I guess it's time to start shopping around for brunch places again.
