At a (late) Thai New Year festival today, I purchased a box of a wonderful homemade dessert that I would love to replicate at home.
The box contained gelatinous little cubes of an opaque, dull mossy green color, rolled in coconut and salt. They tasted exactly like fresh corn sweet tamales. I've eaten and made many Asian desserts, but I can't begin to imagine what goes into this one. The texture was much softer than most I've had, and the flavor was completely unique. It was definitely not pandan-flavored. I would have asked the woman who sold them to me for more information, but she didn't speak much English.
I've already eaten all but one, and I feel I could eat these every day without growing tired of them. Any ideas?
